What happens when religion is the cause of your alcoholism?
You abandon religion.
I might be drunk, but self medicated stupidity is less expensive.

As an alternative to “atheist” I like the term “antagnostic” meaning “I’m not entirely sure what I believe but I know what YOU believe is stupid.”
Oh wait…you’re trying to BUILD bridges.

Man… I like ya because you say the things I think and feel in the ways that I say them (and often quite better than I do). Plus, you’re not against getting drunk and waxing philosophical. Good shit. Thanks for the post.

I agree completely. I call myself an atheist for ease but I am also pretty Taoist and spiritual. I reject the concept of a willful being separate from myself that is pulling all of the strings. That does not mean I cannot believe that I create by observing, or that an infinite natural 10th dimension is manifesting everything out.

Ummm, water is lethal if you take it to excess.
Oxygen is lethal under sufficiently high partial pressure.
Alcohol is lethal at not much higher than heavy-drinker’s recreational doses.
Wassa matter? You don’t like the idea of drinking hallucinogenic reindeer piss?

drunk vlogs really suit you, ape – or, they suit me. this was a great discussion with a lot of good points. you’re doing a great job of putting “atheist” in perspective.
